DOROTHY TAYLOR MILLER

Dorothy Taylor Miller, 84, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a resident of Savannah, Georgia for 53 years passed away Sunday, May 13, 2007 at the Savannah Hospice House.
Mrs. Miller was born February 27, 1923 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Joseph P. and Dora Bonsall Taylor. She was a member of the Savannah First Presbyterian Church, active in her church circle and the maker of hats and scarves for the homeless and beautiful afghans for friends and family. Mrs. Miller was involved in scouting activities as a cub scout den mother and as a girl scout troop leader. She served as a volunteer for the Red Cross and the Savannah Public Library. Starting as a volunteer, Mrs. Miller was hired as a library assistant at Calvary Baptist Day School, a position she served in for a decade.

Mrs. Miller was preceded in death by her loving husband of 66 years, Charles Miller Jr., and by her brothers John, Joseph and William Taylor.
She is survived by her four children, Charles Miller III and his wife Martha Miller of Yorktown, VA; Dr. Larry Miller and wife Dr. Mary Miller of Savannah, GA.; Joyce Brink and her husband David Brink of Downingtown, PA; Dr. Elizabeth Slaymaker and her husband Ronald Slaymaker of Plano, TX; her sister Marian Berry of Downingtown, PA and brother Roy Taylor of Coatesville, PA; eleven grandchildren and fifteen great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday, May 17, 2007 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Fox and Weeks Funeral Directors Hodgson Chapel.

Graveside Services will be Friday, May 18, 2007 at 10 a.m. in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.

My condolences to the family, I worked with Mrs Dorothy for a little over a month and it was more than a pleasure. Everyday we talk of her children and how good they were. She loved Mr Miller very much and she taked of him often as well. She talked of everyone so I could tell anyone who was who in a picture and where they livedsmile. Thank you all for the opportunity of caring for your Mother I will always remember her as the great woman that she was and I will always love her. Stay strong and remember that we all loved her but God loves her. best
